For this assignment we used light and shutter speed to create images of light being manipulated into shapes and designs. The longer the shutter speed the more light was able to be captured for a longer amount of time. We were able to capture people as well. For this assignment we had to take eight photos that represented texture, pattern, and rhythm. Some of these photos were taken in the court yard at our school and others were taking in my yard. I leaned towards plants and flowers a lot for this assignment because I feel as though they demonstrate good examples of texture and pattern. This assignment zoom was used quite often because when the camera is closer to the object it is easier to catch its patterns and textures. i shot mostly straight on for this assignment and sometimes up above, and most of my photos are horizontal. I really enjoyed this assignment and the opportunity to shoot in our courtyard with the cameras.
For my first photograph in our assignment of line and shape I took a picture of a crutch. In this picture the crutch demonstrates examples of shape and line. My inspiration was myself due to recently having to use crutches. For my second photograph I captured an image of a hammock in the woods at a family members house in Dartmouth. The hammock shows examples of line. For my third photograph in our line and shape assignment i took a photo of a piece of medal. I thought this portrayed good examples of shape in the actual piece of metal and the shadow behind it. For my fourth photograph i took a photo of a family members house on the Lees river in Swansea Ma. This photograph portrays the rule of thirds and lines. My fifth photo for this assignment is buttons on an elevator. This photo shows example of shape. |
